Frequently asked
questions.

Answers to the questions I hear most from Reno-Tahoe business owners about SEO, web design, and working together.

How much does local SEO cost in Reno?

+

Every project is custom-quoted based on your business, your market, and your goals. That said, most small businesses invest between $500 and $2,000 per month for ongoing local SEO. One-time projects like SEO audits or website builds are quoted separately. I don't do packages — you get exactly what you need.

How long does it take to see SEO results?

+

SEO is a long game. Most businesses start seeing measurable improvements in 3-6 months, with significant results building over 6-12 months. Some quick wins — like Google Business Profile optimization and fixing technical issues — can show results faster. Anyone promising page-one rankings in 30 days is not being honest.

Do you require long-term contracts?

+

No. I work on a month-to-month basis for ongoing services. If I'm doing good work and delivering results, you'll want to keep working with me. If not, you can stop anytime. One-time projects like audits and website builds have their own scope and timeline.

What areas do you serve?

+

I primarily serve businesses in Reno, Sparks, Truckee, Incline Village, Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Fernley, Dayton, and the surrounding Northern Nevada and North Lake Tahoe areas. Since SEO work is done remotely, I can also work with businesses outside this area, but my local expertise is strongest in Reno-Tahoe.

Do you build websites on WordPress?

+

For most small business sites, I recommend custom HTML/CSS builds hosted on Netlify. They're faster, more secure, cheaper to host, and easier to maintain than WordPress. If your business genuinely needs a CMS with regular content updates, I'll recommend the best platform for your situation.

What's the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?

+

Regular SEO focuses on ranking in organic search results for any user regardless of location. Local SEO specifically targets geographic searches — the map pack, 'near me' searches, and location-specific queries. For businesses serving a local area, local SEO typically drives the highest-intent traffic.

Will you write content for my website?

+

Yes. Content strategy and copywriting is one of my core services. I write service pages, location pages, blog posts, and landing pages — all optimized for search and written in your brand voice.

Can I do SEO myself or do I need to hire someone?

+

Absolutely you can do some of it yourself. Claiming your Google Business Profile, asking for reviews, and basic on-page optimization are all doable. Where a specialist adds the most value is in strategy, technical optimization, competitive analysis, and content that consistently targets the right keywords.

How do you measure and report results?

+

I track keyword rankings, organic traffic, Google Business Profile insights, phone calls, form submissions, and other metrics relevant to your goals. You get regular updates with clear, jargon-free explanations of what's improving and why.

What makes Pine & Pixel different from an agency?

+

You work directly with me — one expert who knows your business, your market, and your strategy. No account managers, no outsourced work, no getting lost in a client roster. I'm also a local business owner in Reno, so I understand the challenges you face firsthand.
